Interactive Eye
Interactive eye
This is an interactive design project I did in a workshop with a group of 12. The idea of this project is to capture the fun moments in student life and then create an installation to show people these moments through interaction.
Vision principle & motion principle
Here are two visions, the pesistence and the complement. The pesistence is the theory of cartoon production, while the complement can help us to complement what is behind the grills, based on our experience. One image consists of six 1/6 of images, when it is shaded by grilles in different position, it can be complemented to the equivalent six images referred above. When the grilles move, the effects of one image is equivalent to those of six images in sequence, and thus the cartoon happens.
data flow
The data flow is quite straight forward: hand movement read by sensors will be delivered to Arduino (a single-board microcontroller), and then processed data will be passed on to the motor, as a result the device will start moving and generate cartoon effects.
SENSOR, PROGRAM, MOTOR
In groups, we wrote the program, connected the sensor, and assembled the motor on our own, and then started testing as shown in the video.
