Greenhouse Stories

This is a library where you can experience different stories and layers of space. The monumentality of concrete and the lightness of greeneries enrich the spatial experiences, at the same time they generate greenhouse effect that keeps the library rooms warm. Each piece of the greenery is owned by a family in this neighborhood. The market in the open corridor next to the library helps to sell the economical plants to the public. These residents who help with managing the greenhouse plants or selling them in the market will all receive shares of the profit from the economical plants each year, the rest of the profit will go into the greenhouse library funding for future seed purchase and library development.

Built with wastes (recycled windows) in the neighborhood, the greenhouse library structured a wholesome urban system, where urban agriculture does not only produces economical values but also instigates biological information exchange from the base of a library. It is just like a living book full of stories, waiting for you to read, to grow, and to explore. This neighborhood, which used to be run-down and insecure, is now greener, safer, and wealthier.
